Rag bag
My ability to sew is not very good so I was grateful when my friend Elsie helped me to put together a Christmas rag bag and coaster that used SU fabric.

Thanksgiving Place Settings and Card
There have been many Turkey Treat Cup images posted recently. This is just my version. The pumpkin was CASED from from an article I found on Split Coast awhile ago using a coffee filter and fiberfill. The card uses two techniques: Shaving Cream and Reinkers on felt to create the multicolorful leaves. A great card for a Thanksgiving message.

Haunted House #2
Katherine Plecas is another talented friend who just blows me away with her creativity. We refer to her as the "Glitter Queen" and she did not disappoint this time. The roof has a fine dusting of black glitter that sets the house apart from others I've seen. Take a close look at the shutters and the window coverings. Just an amazing piece of work.

Composition Book
I have been working with three members of our education committee for a couple of years now and wanted to put together something to say thank you and a job well done. I used some retired SU ribbon, current SU DSP and Riding Hood Red CS and ink. Current SU Chantilly ribbon, Antique brads, a mini tag and a scrap of card stock for the owl's vest. I am hoping it says Merci to my committee.

DSP Elegant Soiree is matted on Baja Breeze CS with Soft Suede and Very Vanilla CS. Inks used were Baja Breeze, Soft Suede, and Celery. Accessories consisted of Stampin Write Markers, Double Scallop Ribbon Border Punch.
To add depth I stamped off on the background.

Because I Care
I have been playing with the SU markers to color the flower I had stamped on Very Vanilla CS. I used SU Marina Mist, Baja Breeze, and Bashful Blue. On the leaves I used Always Artichoke and Old Olive. In the center of each bud I added Pearlized Smooch to add some depth. The phrase was stamped with Marina Mist and a piece 1/8 Marina Mist ribbon was tied onto the card. I layered the card by alternating between Marina Mist and Crumb Cake CS.The top left hand corner was paper pierced.

Artistic Etchings Notebook Cover
As I prepare to leave for the SU Convention I had one more project I wanted to do with my favorite SU stamp set Artistic Etchings. The notebook measured 5 3/4" W by 8 1/2" H. I covered the front and back with SU Real Red CS measuring 5 1/2" W by 8 1/2" H. The Black (SU CS) binding measured 2 1/4" W by 8 1/2 H with scoring at 1",1 1/16", and 1 1/8" Besides the red and black card stock I cut the new Newsprint DSP into various sizes, attached some red brads, a vintage tag, a piece of red 1/8 taffeta ribbon, and a piece of Styled Vanilla from the Hodgepodge Hardware collection. After stamping the medallion, the key and the Eiffel Tower I used the Charming SU stamp set to finish the project.

Owl
I could not resist using the new SU Two Step Owl XL punch as soon as it arrived.
The card base uses SU Pumpkin Pie CS and is layered with the new Early Expresso CS using the SU embossing folder Perfect Polka Dots and Greenhouse Gala DSP. I punched a strip of SU Pear Pizzazz CS with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Boarder punch and than coordinated the owl to match the DSP. I did put SU Dimensionals behind the owl. The initial design was inspired by Barb Mullikin

Paris
Who hasn't seen pictures of the Effel Tower. I was taken aback last year when I was able to visit Paris. The structure is every bit as awesome in person as it is in pictures. So it is no surprise that my first purchase with the new SU 2010-2011 catalog was the Artistic Etchings stamp set. The layouts were inspired by Ilina Crouse and Marie Shaughnessy.
Both cards used SU inks and cardsock of Basic Black, Whisper White, and Real Red. The first card used the background stamp En Francais with the various stamps included in the Artistic Etchings set. I did use a piece of the DSP Newsprint as a mat for the Effel Tower. Dimentionals were used to make the key, crown, and "Amour" stand out.The second card took a little more effort since the tower is first stamped on a piece of SU black cardstock with Craft Whisper White ink and another stamped on Whisper White CS using Basic Black Classic ink.The two towers are cut in-half vertically and matched up with one another. The background again uses the SU En Francais stamp.Makes me long for Paris again.

Watercolor Trio
I like everything about this new stamp set Watercolor Trio featured in the SU Summer Mini catalog. I used SU Lovely Lilac CS as a base and textured Whisper White CS using the new embossing folder Square Lattice that I coated with Lovely Lilac ink.
I stamped Confetti White CS with SU inks Old Olive, Always Artichoke, Lovely Lilac, Perfect Plum and Rose Red. Before stamping onto the Confetti White CS I spritzed the paper with the Gold Glow Smooch.I used SU punches Scalloped Oval and Small Oval for the sentiment and completed the card with ribbon from the Ribbon Originals collection. src="http://sites.google.com/site/dianekleiger/Home/kliegersiggy.jpg">

Punch Art on Paperclips
I used the directions I found on www.creatinwithkirsteen.com to create these Japanese Dolls on paperclips. I used a sheet of the new travel paper found in the new mini and SU CS navy, black, and vanilla. The body shapes were created with the wide oval punch and the face and hair styles with the 1" and 1 1/4" circle punch. The jumbo clips I found at an office supply shop. They are held together using Tombo glue and glue dots.
I hope you enjoy.

Sweet Pea Paper
The Sweet Pea Designers Paper Stack is fun to work with. I started with a card base of textured Olive Green CS. Picked two pieces of coordinating paper from the "Stack" and matted the lower piece with Taken With Teal CS. I used the punches Scalloped Oval and Small Oval and distressed the edges to add textured. The thanks so much stamp from the SU Pocket Silhouettes stamp set was used for the message. I finished the card by using buttons from the Fresh Favorite II collection, SU designer hardware:a Mini Library Clip, a White Basic Jumbo Grommet and ran two different ribbons from the SU Ribbon Originals through the center of the groumet.

Flowers Everywhere
Spring is in the air. Flowers are blooming at my house. I just can't stop making flowers lately. I have had so much fun trying different techniques I've seen on several blogs. I cased the pansy flower card that Mary Jo Price-Williams displayed on her blog. I will use it as a birthday card for a friend who really likes pansies. I used the SU Butterfly Punch to creat each flower (2 butterflies needed for each flower) punched out of Shimmery White CS. Spritz the butterflies with water. Load the edges of a small paint brush with any color reinker, I used Elegant Eggplant and go around the edges letting the reinker trickle down the petal of the flower. Set aside to dry. I sponged So Saffron ink ever so lightly over each flower and placed a So Saffron brad in the center.
For the base of the card I used SU CS Elegant Eggplant, and matted it with Whisper White and So Saffron (embossed) tearing the bottom edges ever so slightly). For the leaves I picked SU CS Certainly Celery and used the Five Petal Flower punch. Once punched I ran the flowers through the crimper to add texture to the leaves.
For the roses I copied the receipe found on the Creations on Paper website.Three flowers are punched using the XL Fancy Flower punch of your favorite color CS that has been run through the crimper and flatten out with a bone folder. I used Tempting Tourquiose and So Saffron . I than spritzed them with water.I cut them as directed, glued, sniped the ends and curled the edges outward. I started by gluing the tip of the center petal and sliped this into the 2 petal cone, followed this using the 3 petal cone until all parts are together and you have a flower. Leaves can be added.

Flower Card
I used the tutorial created by Lisa Freeman to create this card. The flower was much easier than I thought it would be.I used CS Not Quite Navy, Kraft, Very Vanilla and paper from the DSP Bella Bleu collection. The stamp set Vintage Vogue, Kraft Taffeta ribbon, and Not Quite Navy ink were used to complete the card.

Chalkboard Technique
I CASED this card from Lynn Starzl.I first stamped with SU Craft Whisper White using the Inspired By Nature stamp set onto SU Basic Black CS.I let it air dry and than used Stampin" Pastels to color in the image. I used the SU Scallop Trim Border punch on Summer Sun CS to trim. I ran a piece of Lovely Lilac CS through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder.I attached this to a card base of Confetti Cream CS.To complete I embossed butterflies of Summer Sun and Lovely Lilac using the Beautiful Wings embossilit die.

Masculine card
I wanted to work with DSP that I had not played with in a while so...Bella Bleu and To the Nines came to mind. Using Sahara Sand CS as the card base I placed Brown Polka Dotted (To the Nines)CS and then matted the stamped Asian Aristry design (Hostess Set)with CS from the Bella Bleu collection. The lower right corner was decorated using both DSPs punched with the Photo Corners punch. Colors used to stamp the design on Confetti White CS were SU Sage Shadow and Pretty In Pink.I left the sediment off since it could be used for any occassion and could be a guy card.

Bunny Sweet Treat Cup
I am having a lot of fun with the SU "Sweet Treat Cups".I used "Pretty in Pink" cardstock and layered it with paper from the "Sweet Pea Designer Series Pack".The bunny was made using the following SU punches: Large, wide, and small oval punches for the ears and feet. The "Ornament" punch for the head, , "Small Heart" punch for the nose and cut petals from the "Extra Large Fancy Flower" punch for the paws. The 2" circle from the SU "Circle #2" die was used for the body. SU "Chalks" and the "Singo gel pen" were used for shading. I popped up the head and ears using SU "Dimensionals" and SU "Snail Adhesive and Glue Dots" to secure the bunny to the page. I added some google eyes and whiskers with a basic black SU "Write Journaler" and filled the belly with jelly beans. I almost forgot I used SU "Whisper White" card stock.I hope you enjoy.
