Spring is in the air. Flowers are blooming at my house. I just can't stop making flowers lately. I have had so much fun trying different techniques I've seen on several blogs. I cased the pansy flower card that Mary Jo Price-Williams displayed on her blog. I will use it as a birthday card for a friend who really likes pansies. I used the SU
Butterfly Punch to creat each flower (2 butterflies needed for each flower) punched out of
Shimmery White CS. Spritz the butterflies with water. Load the edges of a small paint brush with any color reinker, I used
Elegant Eggplant and go around the edges letting the reinker trickle down the petal of the flower. Set aside to dry. I sponged
So Saffron ink ever so lightly over each flower and placed a
So Saffron brad in the center.
For the base of the card I used SU CS
Elegant Eggplant,and matted it with
Whisper White and
So Saffron (embossed) tearing the bottom edges ever so slightly). For the leaves I picked SU CS
Certainly Celery and used the
Five Petal Flower punch. Once punched I ran the flowers through the crimper to add texture to the leaves.
For the roses I copied the receipe found on the
Creations on Paper website.Three flowers are punched using the
XL Fancy Flower punch of your favorite color CS that has been run through the crimper and flatten out with a bone folder. I used
Tempting Tourquiose and
So Saffron . I than spritzed them with water.I cut them as directed, glued, sniped the ends and curled the edges outward. I started by gluing the tip of the center petal and sliped this into the 2 petal cone, followed this using the 3 petal cone until all parts are together and you have a flower. Leaves can be added.
